Only grown on the island of Jersey and with a relatively short season, the arrival of Jersey Royal potatoes in the spring is real cause for celebration.
Because of their earthy flavour, they taste fantastic with just a lick of butter and sprinkling of salt. For something more adventurous, try roasted spiced potatoes with mango chutney and salsa or opt for easy salmon en papillote with Jersey Royals, fennel and olives. You could even take things up a notch with homemade pizzas topped with potato, bresaola and truffle oil.
Thank to their delicate skin you don’t need to peel, scrub or scrape Jersey Royals; just give them a wash to remove any dirt.
