Rich with protein, peanuts are a more powerful ingredient than they’re given credit for. While rather moreish on their own, they’re just as good in a filling smoothie or spicy satay sauce for barbecued meat.
Match them with salted caramel icing to make a delicious topping for cakes and for extra crunch and flavour add them to savoury salads and curries. Smoky roasted mixed nuts, meanwhile, are the perfect way to kick off any barbecue.
For a flavour-packed dressing combine two garlic cloves, half a chopped red chilli, two tablespoons peanut butter, one tablespoon agave syrup, two teaspoons each grated ginger, light soy sauce and one teaspoon sesame oil.
