Drink water as soon as you wake up. This has multiple benefits: it regulates your internal organs, increases the production of blood and muscle cells and fires up your metabolism.
Have a stretch, then set about cleaning your teeth properly; that means for at least two minutes and includes your tongue. Next, put on sunscreen. The importance of this can’t be overstressed.
Do some squats while you’re waiting the three minutes it takes for the kettle to boil. That’s 21 minutes of squatting a week – you’ll have stronger (and firmer) quads, hamstrings and glutes.
Eat a healthy breakfast or make something for the office. This will give your metabolism another boost, sharpen your focus and should prevent you from succumbing to that mid-morning muffin.
Make steps towards preparing dinner that evening. This could be removing some chicken from the freezer to thaw, laying out spices you’ll need, chopping an onion or making a salad dressing.
