Sense of adventure
I’ve lived in Dubai for five years so have racked up my fair share of desert safaris. But I still can’t wait for the unseen trails tour. The breakfast picnic spread from Baker & Spice sounds lovely, and spending time amidst the falcons planting ghaf trees will be unforgettable.
Home sweet home
Whether it’s for work, a birthday party, or relaxing weekend project, my next bake is never too far away. So it stands to reason that that my kitchen is stacked with sugar (this level peaks during The Great British Bake Off). I’m a loyal user of Billington’s sugar – the range is natural and of a consistently high-quality.
I’m a big fan of Thai food. There’s something about the freshness and combination of sweet, salty, spicy flavours that I just can’t get enough of. If I’m going out for dinner I’ll head to the Park Hyatt in Deira, but I also really enjoy cooking Thai-style food at home. These prawns kebabs with coconut salad are one of my go-to dishes.
Pretty as a picture
I’ve been familiar with photographer Matt Armendez’s work for some time - in 2014, he photographed four of my desserts (including this rhubarb and custard tart). Matt’s back in Dubai next month to host a seminar at Alserkal Avenue as part of GPP Photo Week – the event is a must for keen food photographers.
