The Spinneys Family Series: Carol Ahamad, Store Manager

Carol gives us her insight on the importance of working together as one motivated team

I’ve been at Spinneys for 15 years. I started as a cashier in the Umm Suqeim store, then moved to checkout supervisor before I was promoted to trainee manager. I’m currently a store manager at the Al Furjan store.

The reason I work for Spinneys is because managers and staff have equal opportunities to grow in the company, and there’s a real focus on both customer service and employees’ wellbeing.

The best part about my job is that I get to work with people: the rest of the team – who are like another family to me – and the customers, especially our regulars!

It’s so important to have good working relationships. This is what keeps me motivated. Spinneys promotes a work-life balance – there are cycling activities and weekly and monthly meetings where we share achievements, concerns and solutions (and jokes, in between!).

If I could only eat one Spinneys product for the rest of my life, it would be the carrot cake.
