How many years have you been participating in the Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge, or is this your first time?
This will be my first time.
What inspired you to take part?
As the store manager, I feel it’s important to get involved in these events and show a commitment to Spinneys’ message of health and wellbeing, both in my personal and professional life. I hope to lead by example.
What is it like cycling as part of the Spinneys team?
I love the brand and everything it stands for, so any opportunity to show support for this is a proud moment for me. Wearing the Spinneys logo on the track makes me feel pleased to be part of such a great company.
Are you following a specific training plan?
Have you adopted a special diet to help you prepare?
Not yet but perhaps I will do for the future build-up ride and the final race.
What do you enjoy about cycling, and the Cycle Challenge?
Cycling is refreshing and helps keep me healthy. Despite being one of the slowest cyclists in the group, the sport constantly inspires me to be the best I can be – that’s what’s so uplifting about it.
How was the first build-up ride?
In one word? Successful.
Do you have any words of advice for those attempting this for the first time?
My top tip would be to remember to tie the chip on your leg so that you know your time – you don’t want to miss out on that!
