March is one of the most beautiful months to be in the UAE – the temperature is perfect, gardens burst with colour and a day at the beach is a joy. One of the best things about getting outdoors is how good it makes you feel and the positive effect this can have on your health and wellbeing.
The sun’s ultraviolet rays boost vitamin D levels (20 minutes or so a day are all you need) which are essential for good bone health, loss of excess fat and a strengthened immune system. So, why not slap on the sunscreen and embrace that thought by going for a jog round your local area or heading to the park for a power walk or purposeful jaunt?
SCRUB UP WELL
Thanks to being rich in vitamins A, B and E, the bananas in this body scrub will help to nourish and revitalise your skin. The honey brings an antibacterial element (a good balm for inflamed skin) while the oats act as a natural exfoliator and softener. To make the scrub, combine 1 mashed banana with 4 tbsp oats and 1 tsp honey. Massage onto the skin and leave for 15 minutes or up to an hour.
