Hansen Orchards is a fourth-generation family business that started out growing apples. In the 1990s, cherries were added to the repertoire. The result (thanks in part to their location in clean, green Tasmania) is fabulous: large, glossy cherries with a sweet taste and crunchy texture.
Hansen cherries are picked by hand to reduce bruising. They’re then cooled before being carefully packed – arriving to us (and you) no later than 72 hours after harvest.

How we like them
For an easy, delicious dessert that offers a twist on the flavours of
a classic Bakewell tart, layer scoops of vanilla ice cream, fresh cherries and dollops of cherry compote into small bowls. Top with a generous scattering of toasted flaked almonds.
Tart-sweet fruit with gooey cheese – what’s not to love? Drizzle 200g mixed fruit (cherries are a must) with 1 tbsp each balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. Bake with a rosemary-studded round of brie for 15 minutes at 180°C, gas mark 4.
